Happy New Year, 2012!

I can't believe it's a new year! Time certainly flies when you're happy :)

Just a small re-cap/highlights from January 2011 to December 2011:
  • I moved into our new house back in January and been loving our new ward and neighborhood already!
  • we got our little kitty B when he was just 10 months old.
  • when i wasn't married and went to a YSA ward, i experienced the first ever change in the ysa ward boundaries. so instead of being 30 seconds away from church, i had to drive to BYU campus. my ward met in the JFSB.
  • got a new white car...which i LOVE.
  • passed all (except one) of my classes so far that i've taken at UVU.
  • I got engaged in June :)
  • Alec scored a great internship opportunity over the summer in New York.
  • I got MARRIED AUGUST 26TH TO MY BESTEST FRIEND!
  • our first road trip as married folk was to see Ian and his family in Colorado for Labor day. it was a long 8 hours drive but it was so fun!
  • my sister got married in November, weekend before thanksgiving and I was her maid of honor:)
  • my parents flew in for thanksgiving AND christmas!
  • we went to San Diego over Christmas break.
  • celebrated our first New Years together as husband and wife.
speaking of which, Alec and i went on our honeymoon/Christmas vacation from December 26th - 31st and it was a blast! we wanted to come back in time for New Years since we didn't know San Diego too well so we weren't quite sure what to do if we did celebrate there. besides, drunk people isn't really our crowd. we ate at all these fabulous restaurants and visited the San Diego Temple. we went to San Clemente to visit Jevin, Nicole and their family (love them!). and we did some random shopping at the mall close by our hotel and at the Las Americas Premium Outlets near the border of Mexico. totally felt as though i was in a new place!

it's been weird not having school for so long. but i'm excited to go back on Monday - my birthday :) BYU started today, so i dropped Alec off at campus this morning. he's only taking two classes this semester and hoping to take on more clients. he is such a hard worker, i'm so impressed by him and grateful to have him in my life as my best friend.

As far as 2012 goes, i know this is going to be a great year! we've already been called as Primary Teachers for the CTR 5A class (all sweet 5 year olds!) and our first week of teaching was January 1st. I must say, we have the most adorable kids on the planet. i'm always going to be looking forward to Sundays (i was before...but more so now).

well, it's time to do some chores :)
